It has been confirmed that midfielder Victoria Pelova will move to Tottenham Hotspur. The move comes after three years with the club’s rivals, Arsenal.
They announced today that she will be joining the club for the 26/27 season. The length of the contract has not yet been announced.
A Decorated Career
Pelova began her career at ADO Den Haag in the 16/17 season. She became the leading goalscorer in her first season at the age of just 18. The midfielder later moved to Ajax, spending four years at the club. She made 84 appearances and scored 16 goals throughout her time there.
Making a move to the WSL, she joined Arsenal, helping them to their Women’s Champions League win in 2025. Pelova suffered an ACL injury ahead of the 24/25 season, yet returned to support the Gunners in March 2025.
As well as league experience, the Dutch player has been called up for the Netherlands, and has played in their last four major tournaments on the international stage. She has made 71 appearances for her country so far.
A Move to Tottenham
The 27-year-old will now be moving to Spurs ahead of their 26/27 campaign. Staff off the pitch are said to be delighted with the signing. Head Coach Martin Ho spoke highly of the midfielder:
“Victoria is a brilliant signing for us and someone who brings real quality, intelligence and top-level experience into our team.
“She is an established international player with the Netherlands, has played in major European competitions domestically and internationally, and understands what it takes to perform in high-pressure environments. What excites us is not only what she has already shown in her career, but also the belief we have that there is still much more to evolve in her game.
“We are delighted she has chosen to come to Tottenham. She arrives with strong experience, a real understanding of this league, and the ambition to keep developing. Our role now is to give her the environment, support and challenge to help her show even more of her qualities and become an important player for this football club.”
Pelova has also expressed her excitement at moving to play with Tottenham:
“It feels nice to be here, I had a lovely welcome from everyone. When I had conversations with Martin [Ho], he was so good. It felt immediately right to go to Spurs.
“I can’t wait for the season, and I’m so happy to be here.”
The Right Choice for Spurs?
An experienced player like Pelova will bring a plethora of technical ability to Tottenham Hotspur. She has proven in multiple leagues and cups that she is capable of playing under pressure.
The Dutch international also has experience of top-level football in the WSL. Being part of the title-winning Arsenal squad, she is bound to bring her expertise to Tottenham, and give them a better chance of moving up the table.
