Luton Town loanee Kasey Palmer has said he doesn’t know where his future lies next season, but wants to return to the Hatters.

Palmer joined on loan from Championship side Hull City in January and has become a fan favourite.

He has helped the side push towards the play-off spots in League One, and with one game left to go, they are a point off the top six.

They will need results to go their way if they are going to have a chance of returning to the second tier, but they are in great form, ahead of a potential play-off battle.

Even with next season’s division undecided, Palmer told the club’s website he is keen to return.

Hopefully I’m here next year

Speaking in front of some Hatters fans, Palmer was put on the spot about his future after some fans chanted “sign him up” and “Kasey Palmer, we want you to stay”.

On what his future could look like, Palmer said:

It could be the last game, I don’t know, I’ll have to see what happens in the summer. Hopefully not, hopefully I’m here next year, but I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen!

Palmer Showing His Quality

Since joining on loan, Palmer has been impressive for Luton. He has played 19 League One games, starting 17 of those games and has received an average Sofascore rating of 7.19. One thing that really catches the eye is that in his last six games, he has received 8.2 or higher on three occasions.

One thing the 29-year-old has improved since joining the Hatters is his goal scoring. He’s scored eight goals in 19 games, the most in a single season in his career.

Palmer’s been a constant threat for Luton in games. He’s averaging 2.3 shots per game and 0.9 shots on target per game.

Creatively, he has just one assist but has created four big chances in 19 games, while averaging 1.4 key passes per game.

Palmer’s performances suggest he is still capable of playing at the Championship level, but his words suggest that no matter which division Luton are in, he would love to be back there.
