Stoke City have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Swansea City midfielder Ethan Galbraith for over ten million pounds, with the Potters set to fend off competition from other Championship clubs to secure his signature.
The Northern Ireland international enjoyed a solid campaign with the Swans after his move from Leyton Orient in the summer, but has since rebuffed new contract offers at the club to improve his wages, as they did not meet his demands.
He is now set to depart the club just one season after arriving, with a Championship rival set to pay a massive fee to secure his signature.
Stoke Set to Sign Galbraith
According to Tom Coleman, Stoke City have agreed a deal in excess of ten million pounds to sign Swansea City star Ethan Galbraith.
The move represents a huge showing of ambition from the Potters, with the midfielder having many different admirers throughout the Championship.
It will certainly be a loss to the Swans, as the 25-year-old was a key part of their side throughout most of last season, bar the time he spent out injured.
A Fair Deal for Both Teams?
Both teams should definitley be happy with this deal, with there being massive benefits on both sides of the transfer.
For Stoke, they get one of the best midfield players in the Championship and are showing that they are not afraid to spend a large fee to secure top talent to help them push up the table next season
On the other hand, Swansea get a substantial fee for a player they paid just £1.6 million for at the beginning of last season, and it may also give them freedom to either keep Zan Vipotnik or hold out for a much larger fee, with this deal releasing any financial burden on the club.
It is certainly a massive coup for the Potters, but the Swans will certainly be happy with that fee for a player who voiced his clear desire to leave the club if they could not improve on their contract offer.
