Bromley have been denied in their hopes of signing Manchester United youngster Victor Musa on a loan deal.
The versatile forward has been progressing through the Red Devils’ ranks over the past few years and has become a mainstay in their Premier League 2 squad during the final months of last season.
Ravens Striker Search Continues
That form, which saw him score four times and assist two goals in 15 appearances, had caught the attention of at least one EFL club in the form of Bromley.
However, according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, they have been firmly knocked back in their hopes of recruiting Musa, with Manchester United rejecting a loan proposal for the 19-year-old.
It is believed that Michael Carrick’s side has no intention of letting the forward depart the academy setup at Carrington this season, having already got off to a good start with a goal in their Premier League 2 season opener against Ipswich Town.
Bromley have been on the lookout for a new goalscoring option this summer, having also been linked with Charlton Athletic’s Daniel Kanu following his success at Walsall, with the striker eventually joining their League One rivals in Notts County.
Andy Woodman has found an alternative forward to Michael Cheek in the form of ex-Mansfield Town man Victor Adeboyejo, who has got off to an electric start at Hayes Lane with three goals in four appearances so far.
Do Bromley Need A Final Forward?
With Michael Cheek remaining an ever-imposing presence and summer recruit Victor Adeboyejo coming in and making an immediate impact, Bromley are looking in good nick when it comes to their striking options, backed up by Nicke Kabamba.
However, it seems that Andy Woodman is not quite settled with his business up front, with the club pursuing a late loan deal for Manchester United’s Victor Musa.
The 19-year-old has started to become a key figure in the young Red Devils squad, and while he was left on the bench in their most recent Premier League 2 game, he is sure to play an important part across the season.
His versatility does mean that he could have been a key flexible option at Hayes Lane, especially on the right-hand side where there is a lack of depth behind club icon Corey Whitely.
While a Musa deal is unlikely to happen, it does hint that Bromley are perhaps unsatisfied and will perhaps try and bring in a new winger who can also play up front in before the window shuts.
