Reading have acted swiftly following their opening day League One defeat to Lincoln City to add a talented midfielder from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.Â
The Royals fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Imps at Sincil Bank courtesy of goals from Reeco Hackett and Rob Street. Manager Noel Hunt will have taken some positives from what was ultimately an even game despite the score line.
Their upcoming fixtures do not get any easier, with Huddersfield Town next up in League One followed by a trip to Portsmouth in the EFL Cup.
The club have been busy in the transfer window with the additions of Paudie O’Connor, Paddy Lane, Finley Burns and Jack Stevens amongst others.
Reading have already secured one player from Brighton earlier in the window in forward Mark O’Mahony and have now added a second.

Brighton and Hove Albion Midfielder Kamari Doyle Moves to League One Reading
Brighton and Hove Albion Midfielder Kamari Doyle has been confirmed as the latest signing for Noel Hunt’s Reading.
Doyle spent last season on loan in League One, firstly with Exeter City then with Crawley Town. He appeared a combined 45 times scoring an impressive 11 times.
Brighton Technical director David Weir said, “Kamari did really well last season and learned a lot while out on loan. Now it’s about taking that into this season and we believe another loan in League One suits him well.“Gordon Greer and his team will be in touch with Kamari throughout the season.”

An Impressive Move for an Ambitious Club
Kamari Doyle’s impressive loan spell at Crawley Town in the second half of the season put him high on the shopping list of clubs up and down League One. The player was one of the few shining lights for Scott Lindsey’s side, and it could be argued that had he been with them the full season they may have had a chance at staying up.
The midfielder’s spell with the Grecians was far from a disaster too, with fans largely unhappy with his departure at a low point for the club.

Brighton are known for nurturing young talent and the 20-year-old could be the latest in a long line of successful EFL loan products. Reading on the other hand are rebuilding narrowly avoiding extinction. Their new owners have acted with ambition to rebuild the playing squad. Whilst they are not by any means favourite for promotion, they are certainly in a far better place to have a go than previous seasons. Noel Hunt will be hoping that his side can improve from their defensive lapses at the weekend, as well as putting away some of the chances that were presented to them by the Imps.
Doyle will certainly slot into the side well and provide a better attacking output going forwards. Both through his goals and his ability to carry the ball forwards and provide “the ball before the assist”.
