The Carabao Cup third round draw will be made later tonight following the conclusion of the second round clash between Preston North End and Everton

Last night saw 17 round two ties take place, with four scheduled for tonight and two tomorrow. The biggest result saw Brentford hammer Birmingham City 6-1 at St Andrew’s, whilst League One’s Peterborough United picked up an emphatic 5-1 victory at Watford.

Elsewhere, Coventry City eventually edged past a resilient Plymouth Argyle by four goals to two, whilst Lincoln City picked up a morale-boosting 4-1 triumph at Blackpool.

What Is Still To Be Determined?

With the nine Premier League clubs playing in Europe joining the 17 teams who progressed last night in the hat, six spots still remain. Alongside Preston vs Everton, Bradford City welcome Burnley to Valley Parade tonight, whilst Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur host West Bromwich Albion and Charlton Athletic respectively.

Tomorrow night will see the second round reach its conclusion when Luton Town travel to Chelsea and Fulham and AFC Wimbledon battle it out at Craven Cottage.

Pre-Draw For Premier League Sides

It has been confirmed that a pre-draw will take place prior to the main draw. This will see the nine Premier League sides who enter at this stage of the competition find out if they will be drawn home or away.

The nine clubs in question are AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Sunderland.
