MK Dons are pursuing a deal to sign 19-year-old Charlton Athletic midfielder Ibrahim Fullah as Paul Warne looks to put the final touches on his squad.

The Buckinghamshire club are back in League One after a two-season absence, and have already reinforced their promotion-winning squad with six signings as it stands in the transfer window thus far.

Fullah Looks To Round Out Squad

Now, according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, MK Dons are in the process of making a move to sign Ibrahim Fullah to add further depth on the left side of the attack.

Club stalwart Joe Tomlinson was allowed to leave in the summer in order to join League Two side Cheltenham Town, leaving just Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Sammy Silvera as their only senior options, both of whom played in their EFL Cup defeat to Norwich City.

Fullah played 13 times for the Addicks last season, with the 19-year-old breaking through in Nathan Jones’ plans to become a regular in their senior matchday squads in the Championship.

He was handed his big break in the EFL Cup that season, playing and scoring against both Stevenage and Cambridge United in August, with his efforts ultimately earning him Young Player of the Year at the club.

A move to Milton Keynes would be his first loan spell away from the Valley, having represented the club since joining at the Under 10s level.

Similar Issues Could Occur

With Joe Tomlinson moved on to Cheltenham Town in the summer, MK Dons moved to bring in Sammy Silvera, adding a key attacking threat out wide that can complement Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

However, that may not be the only business the club conducts to strengthen their left-hand side, and Ibrahim Fullah is now tipped for a loan switch following both Millenic Alli and Karlan Grant’s arrivals at Charlton Athletic.

The 19-year-old is unlikely to get opportunities with that pair in the squad, but with MK Dons, he may run into similar issues in terms of playing time given the experience of the current options that Paul Warne has at his disposal.

Of course, any opportunity to get chances of senior playing time will be crucial to any player of his age, but considering the current factors in Buckinghamshire, perhaps waiting for another loan move would be the more ideal choice.
