Everton have announced the signing of goalkeeper Rylee Foster-Inman, marking her return to the club after a brief stint with the Blues in 2024.

She has recently left Canadian side Halifax Tides, after spending a short year in North America. She will now return to the WSL to play for Everton once again, with the club confirming the deal.

International Career

The Canadian spent much of her youth playing with the Canadian national team. She has represented her country in three international youth tournaments.

Her first came in 2014 for the U-17 squad, as well as an appearance for the U-20 squad in the same year, where she was a vital player for her country.

Her third appearance came in 2016, when she was once again selected to represent the U-20 squad, marking a successful international career so far.

Her dedication to her national team has earned her two CONCACAF Youth medals for her appearances in both the U-17 and U-20 squads.

WSL Experience

The goalkeeper made her WSL debut in 2020 with Liverpool, after rising through the ranks at her University side, the West Virginia Mountaineers. This marked her first professional contract.

After playing in New Zealand with Wellington Phoenix, she returned to the WSL in 2024 with Everton on short-term loan. She remained with the club for only a short period of time, leaving in January 2025.

Her final club before her return to North America was with WSL2 side Durham, before she returned to North America to play with American side Dallas Trinity.

A Move to Everton

After playing with Halifax Trinity since the beginning of this year, the 27-year-old has opted to return to the WSL to represent Everton once again.

She spoke to evertonfc.com about her excitement to play at Goodison Park once again:

“Everton is about the core values of how hard you work and what it means to represent the badge. Everyone here is on the same beat and we all work hard. The team is very unified and it has a ‘never-say-die’ attitude.

“I love training with Courtney [Brosnan] and Ian [McCaldon]. The union we had when I was here was so tight-knit and special. I felt that every day I was striving to be the best of the best with them and they both pushed me to be that.

“It is awesome to be at this remarkable stadium, too. Goodison has always been a very important stadium to the Club and its fans.”

Technical Director Nick Cox spoke highly of the keeper:

“Rylee bolsters our goalkeeping options and is a strong addition to Scott’s squad.

“She returns to the Club with an established relationship with Courtney and Ian, which is important ahead of an exciting and important season.”

A Good choice for Everton?

Foster-Inman brings experience from both the WSL and other leagues to her play. This will help her settle into her new team at Everton, returning to a city she has previously played in.

It is also important to note that she has a well-established relationship with the Toffees. During her short time there between September 2024 and January 2025, she built strong working relationships with staff behind the scenes.

Creating more choices for goalkeepers can only be a positive thing for Everton, especially choices who are familiar with the club and have a wealth of senior experience.
