Coventry City midfielder Isaac Moore has completed a season-long loan move to Walsall, with Frank Lampard sanctioning the switch to give the 20-year-old his first taste of EFL football.
Moore leaves the CBS Arena for the 2026/27 campaign after Walsall moved to secure the Sky Blues youngster as part of their summer business. The midfielder has previously gained senior experience outside the EFL with Forest Green Rovers and Solihull Moors, but this move represents the next step in his development.
The deal has been in the works for several weeks, and Moore said the interest from Walsall made the decision straightforward once it became clear a move was possible.
“It’s a really nice feeling,” he said.
“It’s been in the pipeline for a few weeks now and when I heard of the interest from Walsall I wanted to get it done as soon as possible.
“There’s a really nice feel about the club and for me it feels like the perfect fit.”
The move gives Moore a chance to build regular senior minutes while remaining under contract at the CBS Arena. Lampard has allowed the midfielder to head out for a full campaign, with the aim of giving him exposure to the demands of league football.
Walsall head coach Lee Grant also welcomed the move, making clear that the Saddlers have tracked Moore for some time and believe he can make an impact while continuing his development.

This loan should give Moore the competitive edge Coventry will want to see added to his game. Walsall have spoken about development, but the real test will come in matches, where he now has the chance to prove he can handle regular EFL football.
A full season away from the CBS Arena should tell Lampard far more than another year around the fringes, while Grant gains a young midfielder with senior experience and a point to prove.
