Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tyrese Hall is attracting interest after several standout displays for the Premier League club’s development teams. The academy star has yet to make his first senior appearance for the club but he has been a regular at youth level.
The 19-year-old starred for Spurs as their development team were crowned Premier League 2 champions in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring two goals in four playoff outings and playing ninety minutes in the final win over Sunderland.
Talented Midfielder Starring at Premier League 2 Level
Thomas Frank may still be assessing his options in central midfield ahead of the new Premier League campaign, with the former Brentford manager appearing to favour the 4-2-3-1 he deployed at the Bees in 2024/25 during pre-season to date.
Tyrese Hall is unlikely to usurp the senior players in those positions. However, the academy prospect impressed by registering six goals and four assists in 20 appearances last season. Three of these outings were against Football League sides in the EFL Trophy, with Hall scoring in defeat at Swindon Town in November.
He does appear to be ready for a regular run of senior football, having been handed the captain’s armband for the under-21 team at Tottenham Hotspur towards the end of the campaign.
EFL Clubs Chase Tottenham Hotspur Prospect
Hall has played to such a high standard that it is difficult to predict what tier of the EFL would represent a suitable loan option. However, Pete O’Rourke has announced that clubs in all three tiers from the Championship down to League Two are interested in signing the talented midfielder on loan.
The source indicates that a decision is expected in the next 24 hours.
Hall played in the six, eight and ten positions for Tottenham Hotspur last season but plays his best football further up the pitch in an advanced midfield role. Jermain Defoe had high praise for the youngster in March, according to TBR Football, with the Tottenham Hotspur legend stating:
“There’s Callum Olusesi who has been on the bench a few times, Malachi (Hardy), I think he’s been on the bench. There’s Tyrese Hall, I’m quite surprised he’s not featured yet to be honest. An unbelievable talent, one of the best I’ve seen in my two years in the academy. Even in the teams we’d played against, I’d put Tyrese up there in the top three I’ve played against.”
His next move will be significant if he is to build on the potential on display at youth level, so a club where he is guaranteed regular football is a must for the prospect.
