Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a move to sign Sean Neave, who is poised to leave Newcastle United before the end of deadline day.
Sky Sports News’ Keith Downie has already reported that Matthias Jaissler is set to allow the 18-year-old to depart St. James’ Park on loan, with a move to League One the most likely option.

However, the multi-club chasing pack for the striker have been beaten to the punch, with an update from Downie alongside Anthony Joseph revealing that Wolverhampton Wanderers have entered talks over a temporary switch.
The Molineux club have faced an overhaul of their striking options this summer, with Tolu Arokodare forcing a move out of the club, while Sasa Kalajdzic was allowed to leave to join Austrian Bundesliga club LASK.
A further exit is also expected, with Hwang Hee-Chan also told he is free to leave the club and has picked up several Premier League suitors, according to Graeme Bailey.
Neave has been on the fringes of the Magpies squad as of late, being named as an unused substitute in Newcastle’s EFL Cup win over West Bromwich Albion last week, and was handed two appearances in the senior side by former manager Eddie Howe.
He excelled as part of the club’s Under-21s setup last season, scoring 15 times across all competitions as they competed in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and the National League Cup.
His impending exit from Tyneside comes as the club agrees a £55 million deal to sign Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo, with the forward already in England to finalise his deal.
Is Neave Ready For Championship Football?
Having experienced very little in terms of meaningful senior experience, Newcastle United are ready to give Sean Neave a true test of his ability with a move on loan to an EFL club.
With some encouraging performances last season in front of goal, the 19-year-old should be able to hold his own when he makes the switch away from St James’ Park, but questions may remain about what he can offer in the Championship.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been looking to revitalise their attacking options this summer, and with the homecoming for Raul Jimenez already paying off with an excellent start to his season, further backups are needed to the Mexican international.
Adam Armstrong remains as a more than handy alternative, but with three squad regulars out of the door, perhaps a new option is needed, and Neave could be that, even if he is lacking in experience as it stands.
While he will head to Molineux as arguably a third or even fourth choice option in César Peixoto’s plans, this deal should give him plenty of chances to establish himself as someone who could back-up Yoanne Wissa and Will Osula in the future.
