Swansea City and Huddersfield Town are leading the chase to sign Newport County playmaker Will Evans in January following his impressive start to the League Two season, according to TeamTalk.
The 26-year-old has had a terrific start to the season so far, hitting double figures for goals so far and was the first player in the EFL to hit the ten-goal target.
Evans has 12 goals and an assist so far this season as Newport County sit 20th heading into their home match against MK Dons this afternoon, with a victory taking them further away from the relegation zone.
Swansea City have built a strong squad over the last few transfer windows with the likes of Harry Darling and Charlie Patino joining Michael Duff’s side and the potential addition of Evans would continue to strengthen the side’s attacking options.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield Town are the third-lowest scorers in the Championship so far this season and are also in desperate need of improving their quality within the final third during the second half of the season in order to climb away from safety.
The former Wales C international has already earned rave reviews from supporters, with fans claiming he should be called up to Wales’ first-team squad during their upcoming internationals in 2024.
Similarly, a host of League One sides have also been monitoring the 26-year-old attacker but his performances have now attracted Championship interest ahead of the opening of the winter transfer window on New Year’s Day.

Evans has played a crucial role for Newport County so far this season and has been a big factor as to why they have pulled away from any potential relegation danger so far.
However, if a Championship offer does arrive, it would be extremely difficult for both the League Two side and Evans himself to turn down but whether that happens remains to be seen.
