Sheffield Wednesday are attempting a late ambitious signing to bolster their promotion chances.
The Owls have had a good transfer market, improving their squad after their disastrous administration season last campaign. Henrik Pedersen’s side have signed 17 players already this window, including some eye-catching forwards such as Callum Slattery and Louie Barry.
Even with those additions in the forward spots, they are looking to add another talented attacker before the window closes at 11. Wrexham’s Davis Keillor-Dunn is said to be the player Sheffield Wednesday are keen on bringing into the club.
Sheffield Wednesday Want Davis Keillor-Dunn
The Wednesday Word have reported that the Owls are making an attempt to sign Keillor-Dunn before the window shuts. TWW writer Joe Crann said on his X:
“Understand that Sheffield Wednesday are trying to wrap up a last-gasp move for Wrexham’s Davis Keillor-Dunn…
“Understand the terms are favourable, and that his versatility is a big factor. Would be a top, top signing on deadline day.”
This news comes after Darren Witcoop shared on Sunday that DKD was one of three players Wrexham would allow to leave before the deadline. In that same post, Wednesday were named as one of several League One clubs looking at the three players.
Proven Goalscorer
If they can pull off the deal, it would be an impressive signing for the Owls. Last season he played 24 League One games for Barnsley before leaving for Wrexham. In those games, he scored 13 goals, as he once again hit double figures.
That season before that, DKD scored 18 League One goals as well as grabbing seven assists for the Tykes. His performances in the 2024/25 season received an average Sofascore rating of 7.15.
Keillor-Dunn’s best goalscoring season came in the 2023/24 season when the striker scored 22 goals for Mansfield Town in League Two. Remarkably, he also recorded double-figure assists, picking up 10 to take his goal contributions to 32.
He’s not had the best time at Wrexham, but a move to League One could help him rediscover his best and get his career going, while helping fire the Owls to promotion.
