Salford City are on the brink of signing Abraham Odoh after entering talks with Peterborough United.

The Ammies are under new management this summer after the appointment of Australian Peter Cklamovski, who has been tasked with getting the club into League One for the first time ever.

Posh Allow Departure

Now, according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Peterborough are engaging in ‘advanced talks’ with Salford to send Abraham Odoh to the League Two side on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old was one of eight players that have been listed for transfer by the London Road side after an underwhelming campaign, with Luke Williams tasked to bring Posh back into contention this summer.

Odoh played a limited role in Peterborough’s campaign last season, featuring just 13 times in League One and failing to register a single goal or assist in any competition.

Joining Posh from Harrogate Town in the summer of 2024, the former Charlton Athletic prospect had a promising campaign alongside Kwame Poku, Malik Mothersille and Ricky-Jade Jones, all of whom went on to leave the club the following summer.

Williams’ side have been in the market for new winger options, having briefly pursued Kyreece Lisbie prior to his move to Reading, but club owner Darragh MacAnthony revealed that they had been priced out of any deal.

Odoh Move Raises Nmai Question

A move for Abraham Odoh is a good start to Peter Cklamovski’s tenure in charge of Salford City, with the Ammies in a good place as it stands to finally get themselves over the line and promoted into League One.

However, the 25-year-old’s arrival could signal that Kelly Nmai’s future is still in the air this summer, after longstanding interest in the exciting Dutch winger.

Peterborough United themselves have been known to be keen on making a move for the Ammies’ number 10 this window, and with his contract ticking down at Moor Lane, perhaps there will be some consideration to sell their star.

However, that decision will surely be delayed until it is seen how Cklamovski sets up his squad for the coming season, but should more transfer rumours swirl over the coming weeks, then perhaps a move could materialise.
