Russell Martin could be facing the sack after just seven games in charge of Leicester City, with a report suggesting the Foxes are already considering parting ways with the 40-year-old.
Poor showings in their opening League One matches, rounded off this weekend with a 4-0 drubbing at home by Oxford United, have left City floundering in the third-tier table, sitting in 17th place after five matches.
Report Suggests Decision Possible
That poor form, which has also seen losses to Burton Albion and a cup exit at the hands of Premier League Ipswich Town, combined with waning fan sentiment, has put Martin under pressure in recent days.
That was then compounded in the wake of the defeat to Oxford, with booing and several negative chants ringing out around the King Power Stadium throughout the match directed at the Scottish manager.

According to Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk, Leicester’s decision-makers are now considering the possibility of sacking the former Southampton boss just over two months after his appointment in the East Midlands.
It marks a possible third sacking in the space of less than two years, having also been handed his marching orders by the Saints, which was then followed up by a disastrous spell in charge at Rangers at the start of last season.
Leicester face a massive test on the road next weekend when they face playoff hopefuls Stockport County, which is then followed up by an away trip to Barnsley.
Could Early Decision Come Soon?
Given his spell at Rangers, there was indeed some hesitancy as to whether Russell Martin could be the one to spark a resurgence in Leicester City, and as it stands, that is yet to emerge, and is leading to an already angry fanbase turning quickly.
Perhaps some of it is down to the lofty expectations that the club expected to have upon their drop into League One, but with just one win in five so far, it is far from encouraging and with fans not seeing enough delivered on the field, it is turning sour.
While a decision may be on the horizon, it may be a case of seeing whether they can respond from this Oxford United setback against Stockport and Barnsley, and if not, then a decision may be made before the points gap becomes too large between City and the promotion-chasing pack.
Martin may not be on the chopping block just yet, but this latest news may come as an informal first warning that the club will make a decision soon if he cannot change the club’s fortunes in the short-term.
