Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Fulham winger Harry Wilson on a free transfer, with the Welshman’s contract with the London club set to expire in the coming weeks.
Wilson was a standout player for Fulham during the 2025/26 season, with the winger scoring ten goals and assisting seven in what was the most productive season of his Premier League career thus far.
However, the Cottagers were not able to agree on a new contract for the ex-Liverpool man, and after five seasons in London, he is now set to make the move to West Yorkshire, where they have shown strong interest since the beginning of last season.
Leeds Agree Deal to Sign Wilson
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract with Fulham.
The Whites have fought off interest from clubs across Europe to secure his signature as they look to bolster their squad after a solid first season back in the Premier League under Daniel Farke.
Leeds attempted to sign the 29-year-old on deadline day last September, but they could not agree on a deal before the 7 p.m. deadline. Despite efforts from Fulham to keep their star man, the Elland Road side will be happy that they finally got a deal over the line.
What Will Wilson Bring to Yorkshire?
Although a lot of recent signings for the club have focused on the future and potential, the Wales captain provides the club with a player who will be ready to go straight away, and they already know that he can make an impact in their squad.
The club expressed a need for a left-footed winger who is able to cut in from wide areas and cause issues for defenders, a profile which describes Wilson perfectly.
Although Leeds will undoubtedly have given Wilson a large salary as well as a sign-on fee in order to convince him to join the club, while also not having much resale value, this is still an incredibly smart signing for the Whites.
The winger will impact results straight away and will definitely be a key player as they set their sights on an ambitious push up the table next season.
