This weekend’s round of fixtures in League Two saw three of the top seven secure victories, further intensifying the battle for promotion as the race for the play-off places continues to tighten. Elsewhere at the bottom of the table, defeats for both Newport County and Harrogate Town did little to boost their hopes of survival, leaving the league’s two strugglers with more ground to make up in the fight to avoid the drop.

GK – Matthew Young – Salford City
The Sunderland loanee has impressed during his second loan spell with the Ammies, continuing his strong form with a commanding display between the posts. Young kept a clean sheet in Salford’s 2–0 victory over Barnet, playing a key role as the club continues to strengthen their position in the play-off race.
RB – Kellan Gordon – Crawley Town
Operating on the right-hand side of a back five, Gordon delivered an influential performance both defensively and in attack. The full-back capped his display with a crucial stoppage-time equaliser in Crawley’s 2–2 draw against promotion-chasing Swindon Town.
CB – Luke Offord – MK Dons
The 26-year-old has been a reliable presence in defence for MK Dons this season, contributing three goals and one assist across the campaign. His performance in Saturday’s emphatic victory over bottom-side Harrogate Town underlined why Paul Warne’s side currently sit second and are pushing for a return to League One.
CB – Farrend Rawson – Accrington Stanley
Rawson produced an outstanding display at the heart of Stanley’s defence, earning strong plaudits for his commanding performance. The 29-year-old also made an impact at the other end, getting on the scoresheet in Accrington’s 1–1 draw with play-off hopefuls Crewe Alexandra.
LB – Max Clark – Gillingham
Clark was influential down the left-hand side, combining solid defensive work with a threat going forward. He provided the assist for Seb Palmer-Houlden in Gillingham’s 1–1 draw with Fleetwood Town, securing a valuable point for Gareth Ainsworth’s side in what has been a turbulent season.
CM – Tom Sang – Shrewsbury Town
The former Cardiff City midfielder played a pivotal role in Shrewsbury’s dramatic 3–2 victory over Chesterfield, producing two crucial assists from set-piece deliveries. His quality from dead-ball situations proved decisive, including the cross that set up Sam Stubbs’ dramatic 93rd-minute winner to seal all three points.
CM – Tommy Leigh – Bristol Rovers
Introduced shortly after half-time, Leigh’s arrival proved to be a pivotal decision from manager Steve Evans. The midfielder produced a superb impact from the bench, scoring twice to spark a second-half turnaround as Bristol Rovers secured a vital 2–1 victory over Crewe Alexandra.
CM – Oliver Norburn – Notts County
The 33-year-old has been an ever-present figure for Notts County this season, providing leadership and composure in midfield during a strong campaign that currently sees the Magpies sitting fourth. Norburn once again underlined his quality in Saturday’s 2–1 win away at Walsall, scoring and dictating play with the experience that has seen him spend much of his career at a higher level.
LM – Jack Stevens – Oldham Athletic
Stevens earns a second consecutive place in the Team of the Week following another outstanding performance for Oldham Athletic over the weekend. The 25-year-old registered both a goal and an assist in their 3-1 win away at Tranmere Rovers, continuing what is proving to be a breakout campaign as he consistently influences games in the EFL.
ST – Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi – Shrewsbury Town
The Sunderland loanee finally opened his account since arriving in January with an impressive brace in Shrewsbury’s 3–2 win against Chesterfield. His first came via a superbly taken header, while his second showed great awareness as he capitalised on a costly mistake from Spireites goalkeeper Zack Hemming.
RM – Harry Anderson – Colchester United
The former Lincoln City winger is enjoying an excellent season under manager Danny Cowley, contributing eight goals and four assists in League Two so far. Anderson once again demonstrated his attacking quality on Saturday, scoring a well-taken goal in Colchester’s 2–1 victory over strugglers Newport County to move the U’s within four points of the play-off places.
