As the season enters its final few weeks, the action intensified once again. Lincoln City extended their unbeaten run at the top of the table, and Cardiff City closed the gap on an immediate return to the Championship. Meanwhile, Stevenage increased their lead over the chasing pack in the play-off race at the expense of Plymouth Argyle, and three of the four sides in the relegation zone dropped valuable points as the race to avoid the drop intensifies.

League One Team Of The Week

GK – Filip Marschall – Stevenage

Stevenage’s shot-stopper was outstanding as they overcame fellow play-off rivals Bradford City 1-0, further cementing their ambitions of a top-six finish ahead of Reading and Plymouth Argyle. With numerous crucial saves throughout the match, Marschall ensured the valuable three points that strengthened Boro’s position in the play-off hunt. His commanding presence between the posts was a key factor in keeping a clean sheet against a dangerous Bradford attack.

RB – Tendayi Darikwa – Lincoln City

The Imps skipper was once again a solid performer as the league leaders overcame struggling Leyton Orient. Darikwa showcased both defensive solidity and attacking versatility, demonstrating strong leadership in Michael Skubala’s side as Lincoln continued the impressive run that has seen them unbeaten for over half a season. His ability to push forward while maintaining a disciplined defensive shape proved instrumental in controlling the game and securing another impressive display.

CB – Jasper Moon – Burton Albion

The 25-year-old stood out as the Brewers secured a vital 1-0 win against AFC Wimbledon, helping them pull further away from the relegation zone. Moon proved a danger in both boxes, assisting Kyran Lofthouse for the winner following an initial long throw from Alex Hartridge. His aerial dominance and composure on the ball made him a standout performer in a hard-fought defensive display.

CB – James Husband – Blackpool

In a statement win for Blackpool, Husband showed his experience in Ian Evatt’s back three, even providing an assist for Tom Bloxham in their 3-1 victory over Peterborough United. The former Norwich City man made his presence felt in both boxes, with strong defensive contributions helping to see out an important three points. His leadership at the back was pivotal in neutralising Peterborough’s attacking threats and ensuring Blackpool claimed a convincing result.

LB – Joel Bagan – Cardiff City

Bagan was crucial in Cardiff City’s 2-0 win against promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers. Not only did he grab an assist for Omari Kellyman’s opener, but the left-back delivered an all-round display down the left flank, combining offensive threat and defensive reliability to take the Bluebirds one step closer to a Championship return. His consistent performances this season continue to highlight why he has become such a key figure in Cardiff’s promotion push.

CM – Owen Bailey – Doncaster Rovers

The 27-year-old showed exactly why he has been nominated for League One’s Player of the Season in Doncaster Rovers’ 1-0 win against the inconsistent Reading. Bailey found the net inside the six-yard area to take his league tally to 13 goals this season and now looks set for a big summer move. His all-round midfield display combined composure, energy and clinical finishing to help Rovers claim a vital three points.

CM – Alex Robertson – Cardiff City

The Australian was once again man-of-the-match worthy as the Bluebirds overcame play-off contenders Bolton Wanderers. Robertson provided a superb assist for Chris Willock, with the former Manchester City youth product continuing his standout form this season as Brian Barry-Murphy’s side edged closer to promotion alongside Lincoln City. His intelligent movement and precise passing controlled the midfield and proved decisive in Cardiff’s push for an immediate Championship return.

LM – Adam Phillips – Barnsley

The 28-year-old delivered a man-of-the-match performance as the Tykes overcame relegation-threatened Rotherham United 3-1. Phillips grabbed the opener before assisting Tom Bradshaw to send Conor Hourihane’s side 3-0 up, taking his goals this season to seven. His creativity and work rate on the wing were instrumental in dismantling Rotherham and securing a comfortable victory for Barnsley.

ST – Dale Taylor – Blackpool

In what has been a below-par season for the Tangerines, the Northern Irishman was a constant threat in their 3-1 home win over Peterborough United, scoring a brace. Despite only 16 league appearances this term, Taylor’s clinical finishing offered a timely reminder of his quality, leaving boss Ian Evatt hopeful he can stay in form heading into next season. His two goals proved pivotal in Blackpool’s statement victory hoping they can end the season in good form.

ST – Tom Bradshaw – Barnsley

Conor Hourihane has endured an up-and-down first full season in charge of Barnsley, but Saturday’s 3-1 win against Rotherham United showed exactly why the club appointed him. Bradshaw was clinical in front of goal, converting Adam Phillips’ assist to put the Tykes firmly in control and rounding off an impressive team performance. His movement and finishing ability continue to make him a vital focal point in Barnsley’s attack as they look to finish the season strongly.

RM – Marcus Harness – Huddersfield Town

In what was a thriller at the Accu Stadium, Harness showed fans exactly why he has spent so much of his career at the League One and Championship level. The experienced winger scored a well-timed brace in the pulsating 3-3 draw with Wycombe Wanderers, even grabbing what appeared to be the winner in the sixth minute of added time before Nathan Lowe equalised with almost the last kick of the game. His composure under pressure and ability to produce moments of magic highlighted his enduring quality in a frantic end-to-end encounter.
