Wycombe Wanderers have given Dan Harvie a new contract, having hit new heights during the 2025/26 campaign.
The 27-year-old has missed just one League One match this season, making the left-back position his own. Having played more minutes than any other Chairboys player this campaign, Harvie has signed a fresh deal for an undisclosed length of time.
Career To Date
The Glaswegian has increased his attacking output in recent weeks, providing two assists in his last six matches in victories over Doncaster Rovers and Stevenage. Harvie is a well-known figure in the EFL, rising to prominence with Milton Keynes Dons. The former Scottish youth international came through the ranks at Aberdeen before representing Ayr United after a loan spell at Dumbarton.
Two seasons in the Scottish Championship alerted MK to his services, signing for the Buckinghamshire outfit ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. He became a key performer in three third-tier seasons, helping the club reach the play-offs in his second year. Harvie continued that form in League Two, before making the step back up to the third tier with Wycombe last season.
Head coach Michael Duff was understandably delighted to tie down one of his key assets to a new deal.
“He’s a big player for the team and it’s a really important signing for us. He’s coming into the peak years of his career and he’s a leader. He trains every day like it’s his last and has that competitive edge that you want in a player.
“His performances since I’ve been here probably put him in the top two or three for Player of the Year which shows the level he’s been at and we’re delighted to keep him.”
Importance In The Play-Off Race
Wycombe will face one of the biggest tests of their play-off credentials this weekend, with a trip to third-place Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon. League leaders Cardiff City are also still to come in March, while an incredibly tricky April sees games against top six rivals Stockport County, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town. Lincoln City are the Chairboys’ final away outing of the 25/26 campaign on the penultimate weekend of the season.
Victory in South Yorkshire on Tuesday evening in their game in hand saw Duff’s outfit steal sixth place from Huddersfield, finally breaking into what had been a relatively consistent top six up until that point. But they are far from assured of that position just yet, with the Terriers, Reading and Stevenage all within two points of the Chairboys. The latter two sides have games in hand, too, meaning they will climb above Wycombe with victories in those matches.
That is something that Harvie and his teammates will be desperate to avoid in the final two months of the season.
