Swansea City have reportedly rejected a bid from Hull City for striker Zan Vipotnik, with the forward being in high demand after a fantastic season last year, which saw him win the EFL Championship Golden Boot award.
The Swans have had a solid transfer window so far, adding a lot of talent while their only significant departure, Ethan Galbraith, commanded a large fee from Stoke City for his services.
Despite this, their star striker from last season has generated interest from all across Europe, but he could soon be on his way out with a Premier League side launching an initial approach for the Slovenian.
Hull City Have Bid Rejected for Vipotnik
As reported by Stuart James, Hull City have had an initial bid rejected for Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.
The 24-year-old netted 23 times in the Championship last season, winning him the Golden Boot award as well as a place in the Team of the Season for the division.
The bid from the Tigers reportedly fell short of the valuation that the Swans have placed on him, with Baz Cooper reporting the price tag is around the £20 million mark for the talisman.
Should the Tigers Keep Pursuing a Deal?
Despite a fantastic season in South Wales last year, there are concerns surrounding Vipotnik as to whether he is able to make the step up to the Premier League.
Swansea will be reluctant to lose their Slovenian star, with their outgoings for this season likely meaning they are able to stand firm on their reported £20 million valuation for the forward.
It is certainly a risky deal for Hull, but with manager Sergej Jakirovic being very familiar with the striker from his time under his management earlier in his career, he will know better than most how much of an impact he can truly have for the Tigers as they search to consolidate on their Premier League return.
