Sunderland are expected to face a host of transfer offers from Ipswich Town, Hull City and Championship side West Ham United for striker Wilson Isidor as they all compete for his signature this summer window.
The 25-year-old has been with Sunderland since 2024, initially joining on loan from Zenit Saint Petersburg before signing a permanent deal in February 2025. The Black Cats, however, have secured Brian Brobbey, who is now the club’s starting forward, which leaves uncertainty over his future.
Sunderland have so far rejected the advances, indicating they are unwilling to sanction a move this summer, having already seen Eliezer Mayenda depart.
However, these rejections have not deterred the three interested parties, who are now engaged in a bidding war for the player.
How much have Ipswich Town, West Ham United and Hull City offered Sunderland for Wilson Isidor?
Ipswich Town are understood to have the highest bid on the table, with approximately £14 million and can also offer top-flight football. West Ham could, according to Alan Nixon offer more, but their current situation could deter Isidor and make any potential add-ons more difficult.
Hull City were at £10 million, plus add-ons, and are reportedly watching the situation closely. With Sunderland reluctant to sanction a move, and three clubs involved, there is a chance that the price could go above market value, especially for West Ham, who have the additional hurdle of EFL football to sell.
Should Isidor Leave The Stadium of Light?
Isidor’s opportunities are looking slim now that Brobbey has departed. Most of his appearances in the upcoming season will likely come as a substitute or in cup competitions. However, Sunderland’s reluctance to let him go does indicate that he is still very much in their plans this season. Whilst it is likely that he will get more game time at one of the three interested clubs, he does have to earn their trust. Sunderland are just one injury away from Isidor playing as their first-choice striker again at a club that has recently been challenging in Europe.
It is clear that Sunderland and Wilson Isidor have a difficult decision to make as the Premier League season edges ever closer.
