Notts County have been handed a substantial six-figure bid for in-demand striker Alassana Jatta by AC Horsens.
The Magpies finally broke through with promotion to League One last season through the playoffs, with the Gambian striker crucial to Martin Paterson’s squad, scoring 16 goals in 34 appearances in the league.

However, they are now at risk of losing the 27-year-old this summer, with reports from Danish outlet Tipsbladet revealing that AC Horsens, who were promoted into the Superligaen last season, have submitted a bid valued at £425,000.
They are not alone in their interest in signing Jatta, who has long been linked with a move elsewhere, with last month revealing that Salford City, the side County beat in the playoff final, were keen on paying a six-figure sum for the striker.
They have since moved on to sign Millwall’s Macaulay Langstaff, as part of their efforts under new manager Peter Cklamovski to finally break through and gain promotion to the third tier for the first time ever.
Jatta was brought to Meadow Lane back in 2024 for a reported fee of just under £130,000 and became an immediate success with regular goals pulling the Magpies into promotion contention alongside David McGoldrick, who moved on to Barnsley in the summer of 2025.
His strike partner for the past season, Matthew Dennis, has already been sold by the club this summer, with him heading to Burton Albion in order to replace Jake Beesley after he headed to Bradford City.
Paterson Faced With Dilemma
Having already sold Matthew Dennis, Notts County face a crunch decision of whether to cash in on Alasanna Jatta as well, or try and hold onto him as they look to keep their heads above the water in League One.
His physicality and aerial prowess has already made him a hit at Meadow Lane since his arrival, and his abilities will be more than handy to try and give the Magpies the best chance possible of thriving in the third tier.
However, this £425,000 bid would mark a major turnover in profit compared to what they paid to sign him from Viborg, and those funds could be used handily to find a new striker with plenty of time to go before their curtain-raiser against Burnley in the EFL Cup first round.
Martin Paterson will have to weigh up the potential replacement options, but considering the struggles some other sides have faced in finding a goal-proven talisman, hanging onto Jatta for this season at least is the best course of action.

Remember the trials and tribulations last season after cashing in on goalie Bass, bringing in Roos who never really produced consistency between the sticks. To sell AJ in similar fashion would backfire big time.
