Championship sides Norwich City and Middlesbrough may be set to miss out on the signing of an in-demand Huddersfield Town talent as his future has been decided.
The second-tier duo were set to battle it out in the summer transfer window, as they prepare for the upcoming season. However, despite their attempts the player looks set to remain in the third tier to continue his development.
Huddersfield Town Set to Tie Down Jay Smith-Sway After Hartlepool Town Loan and Championship Interest
Jay Smith-Sway has attracted interest from across the EFL as his versatility and ability to play on defence and midfield makes him a useful and promising asset in the Terriers’ youth set-up.
The youngster has made a handful of senior appearances, including the high-profile tie against Premier League giants Manchester City. However, he spent a portion of the season on loan in the National League with Hartlepool United.
Both Middlesbrough and Norwich City have been credited with an interest by Pete O’Rourke, however Huddersfield Town are now looking increasingly likely to fend off the Championship suitors and tie him down to a new deal.

Huddersfield have, in the recent past favoured the new shiny toy, Joe Taylor and Alfie May are prime examples of this tactic. However, the key to any successful side is balance, nurturing talent and developing the generation is not just a cheaper route to success, it also tends to breed loyalty.
The existing strategy has not worked and whilst there has been some promising signs, they need to find a way of pushing for promotion without dropping seven figure sums regularly on players that don’t fit their system or style of play.
Smith-Sway is the type of player you can build your midfield or defence around for the next 5+ years, that will grow naturally into the team as they head up the divisions. Keeping hold of him is not just sensible, it could be a sign of better decisions from the powers behind the scenes.

The problem with Norwich for years is we buy but balance that out by selling in other words we strengthen to weaken because the shareholders come first ,its one step forward and one back and thats why we are still in the championship,do not trust Krapper or Webber
