Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been linked with a potential move to Juventus after his name featured prominently in Italian media reports this week.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Juventus are assessing their goalkeeping options ahead of the summer transfer window and have identified Alisson as a possible target. The report suggests the Serie A club are reviewing alternatives after previously tracking AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who has since agreed a new contract at San Siro.

Alisson is contracted to Liverpool until the summer of 2027, having signed an extension in 2021 that included an option year. The Brazilian is currently in his eighth season at Anfield and remains Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper across domestic and European competition.

According to the Italian report, Juventus view Alisson as a viable option should their budget be restricted, particularly if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League. In that scenario, he is described as a more attainable target than Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who is said to be Juventus’ preferred option if greater funds are available.

The same coverage indicates that Juventus’ interest forms part of a broader review of their goalkeeping department, with doubts having emerged over their current setup. No formal contact with Liverpool has been reported, and there is no indication that the Premier League club are actively considering a sale.

His name is surfacing a lot

Alisson’s name has appeared regularly in Italian transfer reporting in recent months, with his previous spell in Serie A often referenced. He spent two seasons at Roma between 2016 and 2018 before joining Liverpool in a then world-record move for a goalkeeper.

Speaking last summer about his future, Alisson played down long-term planning while discussing his contract situation.

“Personally, I have never been able to plan for the long term,”

“I think about what I have in hand, about doing a great job, with a World Cup approaching.”

At this stage, the situation remains one of reported interest rather than an active transfer process. Liverpool have not commented publicly on the reports, and Alisson continues to feature regularly for the club.

The summer window is expected to bring renewed focus on elite goalkeepers across Europe, with Juventus among the clubs monitoring developments closely.
