Hull City reportedly want to complete a permanent deal for Leeds United forward and former Tigers loanee Joe Gelhardt. The Englishman helped City gain promotion to the Premier League last season, and they are very keen to reunite with him.

Hull Want Permanent Deal for Gelhardt
As reported by Baz Cooper, Hull City are in contact to complete a permanent deal for previous loanee and current Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt.
Gelhardt was reportedly on the verge of joining Birmingham City, but the Tigers have now appeared as the favourites to sign the Englishman.
The 24-year-old netted 15 times for Hull last season, including a vital goal in their 2-0 win over Millwall in the Championship Playoff Semi-Final Second Leg, and manager Sergej Jakirovic is now set to reunite with his trusted talisman.
The Right Move for Hull?
In many previous Premier League campaigns, promoted teams who have signed basically whole new starting XI’s have struggled massively during their returns to the top flight. So signing someone like Gelhardt is a sensible move to ensure some stability from last season remains.
He has proven that he can be a goalscorer in the Jakirovic system, with only playoff final hero Oli McBurnie finding the net more times than the striker last season.
The Englishman will undoubtedly be a huge part of the Tigers’ plans this season, and if he can recreate the form we saw last season, it will be a shrewd pick-up for the Premier League newcomers.
