Huddersfield Town are reportedly in advanced talks to sign former Peterborough United star and now free agent Archie Collins. The midfielder has had a lot of interest since his departure, and the Terriers now lead the race to sign him.
Collins departed Peterborough after three seasons with the club, making 159 appearances while becoming a mainstay in their midfield in League One, after the player decided against renewing his contract at the end of last season.
Despite this, he did not sign a new contract this summer, and his deal expiring meant he has become a free agent. However, that may not be the case for much longer, with a fellow League One side in talks to sign the Englishman.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Huddersfield Town are in advanced talks to complete a deal to sign free agent midfielder Archie Collins.
The 26-year-old departed Peterborough United after his contract expired this summer, and it looks like a move to Yorkshire could be imminent as his search for his next destination may be coming to a close.
Collins has also enjoyed a long stint at Exeter City before his move to the Posh, and it seems like the Terriers could be the next step for his career.
A Coup for the Terriers?
Despite a prolonged period of time as a free agent, Collins has not been short of interest from both the Championship and League One throughout the summer transfer window.
The Englishman is an established League One midfielder, with him now boasting a CV of consistent game time across multiple seasons at the level.
Signing the midfielder would be a massive coup for the Terriers, providing much-needed experience in their midfield as they go searching for a return to the Championship after some disappointing campaigns in League One since their relegation from the second tier.
