Yeovil Town ended their 2025/26 campaign with a thumping home defeat, and it appears as though they are wasting no time in beginning preparations for next season.
The Glovers picked up just one win from their final seven league games, ending with a 4-1 loss against Solihull Moors to confirm a 16th-placed finish under new manager Billy Rowley, much to the likely disappointment of the club’s supporters.
Though the club finished two places higher this season, they were five points worse off, thus making their ruthlessness less of a surprise – with the club becoming the ninth side to publish their release list after the 2025/26 season came to an end. You can access the full list here.
Rowley’s ruthlessness as Yeovil Town release 10
Following a second consecutive bottom-half finish, Rowley and his staff have acted quickly to confirm which players will and won’t be at the football club, moving into the 2026/27 season.
The Glovers were the fourth-lowest scorers in the National League last season, scoring just 48 times in their 46 games, which likely explains why half of their departures are attacking outlets who haven’t hit the ground running.
Experienced forward Tahvon Campbell is amongst the list of players leaving the club this summer, having ended the season on loan at Brackley Town after struggling to get minutes under Rowley. The club’s website also confirmed former Chelsea Academy youngster Jacob Maddox was amongst the list of exits.

Elsewhere, midfielder Brett McGavin has signed a new two-year contract to further strengthen Yeovil’s options in the middle of the park.
Do Yeovil have what it takes to secure a top-half finish?
Yeovil Town haven’t finished in the top seven of the National League since the 2019/20 season, in which they came fourth before the season was halted and ended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Whilst a lot of focus will be placed on the attacking outlets that have left the club, one key name that has also left is goalkeeper Jed Ward who returns to Bristol Rovers, following the conclusion of his loan spell at Huish Park.
With the two new deals, Yeovil have eight players signed up for next season, including the likes of Ryan Jones and Luke McCormick who will each add goals and assists to the Glovers attack next season.
Similarly, forward James Daly also ended the season in a good run of form – suggesting that the club are just a few players short of having a side that has the experience and ability to score plenty of goals next season.
The Glovers are a former EFL side and have the ability to attract good players. If they can bring in a goalscorer and a new goalkeeper to replace the departed Jed Ward, Yeovil potentially hold the keys to what could be a fairly successful season – though they need to ensure the players they bring in are better than the ones they’ve let go.
